Our FMCG client based in Arbroath has an opportunity for a Technical Consultant to join their team. The role of the Technical Consultant is to ensure the factory is operating in a safe hygienic manner in line with BRC and internally developed HACCP based documented policies and procedures. This includes Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety policies. You will ensure total customer satisfaction through a proactive and continuous improvement approach.

We are looking for people who have a clean, flexible and committed approach. You must be competent and organised at all times, ensuring all products leaving the site meets customer specification.

Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure the factory is operating in a safe hygienic manner in line with BRC and internally developed HACCP based documented policies and procedures
- Facilitate HACCP meeting and ensure HACCP is being kept up to date/followed
- Liaise with production manager to write and action new procedures.
- Improve current procedures in line with BRC and customer COP
- Responsible for implementing/maintaining BRC documents, records and work instructions
- Organise and facilitate external audits and action all non-conformances raised by given deadlines
- Complete internal audits on systems and personnel throughout site
- Responsible for training of staff and monitoring performance
- Ensure all staff are correctly inducted, have agreed job descriptions and have signed all appropriate paperwork
- Responsible for monitoring weights and measures data ensure any corrective action is taken
- Ensure engineers adhere to company procedures when new equipment is being installed
- Ensure staff comply with food safety, that all PPE is worn in line with policies and procedures
- Asist with production duties when required
- Encourage continuous improvements to product safety and quality within the factory

Skills/Experience:

- Experience of within a technical role (food industry preferred)
- Experience in staff training
- Excellent HACCP and BRC knowledge
- Ability to multi task with excellent attention to detail
- Internal/External Audit experience
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
