Registered Nurse - Older Peoples Medicine
Older Peoples Medicine has been revolutionised at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, come and join us and be part of something ground breaking.
Our award winning, multi-disciplinary team cover our inpatient wards which are supplemented by a suite of innovative and forward thinking services including
Older Persons Assessment Service (OPAS) for the over 70s
Hot clinics twice daily, 5 days a week
All new referrals seen within 48hrs
Physio and Occupational therapy available on the day if needed
Older Persons Emergency Department (OPED)
Brand new scheme attracting national media coverage
Frail older adults over 80yrs presenting to ED are
brought to our dedicated OPED space co-located in the
Emergency Department.
They are reviewed first by a Geriatrician in a commitment
to improve patient experience and reduce length of stay
Older Persons Ambulatory Care (OPAC)
A dedicated area for those patients seen in ED that need a longer than a 4hr assessment
It is likely patients will go home on the day however they will be reviewed by a either a Geriatrician, Physio, OT or Pharmacist if appropriate

Dedicated Dementia Support team Integrated Specialist Volunteers
Programme of stimulating activities to help provide even better patient experience
Dedicated Ortho-Medical ward
